PPA Desktop
PPA Desktop is an open-source desktop tool that helps teams run Patient Pathway Analysis workflows locally, from raw uploads and mapping to generated outputs.
Challenge
- The online PPA was financially not sustainable and lacked functionality for offlline use.
- The PPA required a full overhaul of its technical setup and user experience.
Approach
- Redesigned the technical setup to be more modular and scalable, and the user experience to be more intuitive and user-friendly.
- Used local Docker-based execution to keep data processing on-device while still packaging a guided end-to-end experience.
Outcomes
- Created a reusable desktop application that can be used by teams to run PPA workflows locally, from raw uploads and mapping to generated outputs.
- Improved data privacy by keeping data processing on-device and avoiding dependency on hosted infrastructure for the core workflow, while still providing a guided end-to-end experience.
